Started in 1975 as a newsletter for an apartment complex in Broadview Heights, the GAZETTE has grown to cover four cities over the past 51 years.  While living in the apartments, Bill and Joyce McFadden started the publication to announce events and news within the tight-knit community of Broadview Heights.

Early production was basic and before computers.  Typewritten articles on single sheets of paper with glued on graphics In the corners were created and printed at a local copy shop.  Soon the local mayor of Broadview Heights approached Bill and Joyce to start a city newspaper.  Within three months, it was expanded to cover Brecksville followed by Independence, and in 2005 Seven Hills was added.   For a short time Parma was included.

Today the GAZETTE covers the 4 cities of Brecksville, Broadview Heights, Independence and Seven Hills and is published on the first Wednesday of each month.
